Erse Kablo was one of the product sponsors of the housing design competition for students, which can produce sustainable, ecological and energy consumed in the Solar Decathlon Competition, which was held in 2002. Representing Turkey Bosphorus Team Yıldız Technical University and İstanbul Technical University, degree from Architecture, Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, Landscape Architecture, is composed of graduate and doctoral students. Erse Kablo sponsored ReYard House, designed by Team Bosphorus, with signal control and Erflex brand control cable product groups.
In this competition, it is aimed to create social awareness in the society about energy consumption and sustainability. Technology and industry are supported by innovative materials produced during the competition process. It is aimed to contribute to vocational education, science and academy with the participation of students in this competition.
In September, Team Bosphorus was the first with 99, 91 and 96 points in the “Innovation”, “Engineering and Construction” and “Communication and Social Awareness” categories in the Solar Decathlon Africa Competition organized by the American Energy Ministry in Ben Guerir, Morocco.
20 teams built their projects in Green Energy Park between August and September. The projects were evaluated in the areas of innovation, architecture, marketing and implementation potential, comfort and health, energy balance, sustainability, engineering, home life, home appliances, communication and social awareness. The competition lasted 40 days. Evaluations were made out of 100 points. Highest rated team wins awards. ReYard House won first prize in three categories and received awards.
The source of the success of ReYard House made use of from that the building material constituting the house is sourced from soil and wood, which can be obtained by local means, the conversion of phosphate gypsum obtained from abundant extracted phosphate in Morocco into building material, introducing innovative heating and cooling devices in the mechanical installation design of the house, introducing micro-algae technology and natural ventilation facilities.
Team Bosphorus believes that in order to make the success of the competition even more meaningful, the efforts so far have to be carried to industrial products model zero-energy villages, refugee settlements and many other areas.
The team of students of students and university representing academics, the success of the industrial companies who support them, designers, mentors and sectoral civil society they owe the association stating Turkey and they underline the need to continue to support projects that will generate added value for the world.
